About Aphanite Labs
Making crypto reach everyone, privately.
Aphaniteis how you send crypto and talk to anyone, including people who don't have a wallet. Money and a private, end-to-end encrypted conversation travel together as a link; if the recipient has never touched crypto, their self-custodial account is created invisibly on their own device. Value moves straight from your keys to theirs, with no bank, exchange, or Aphanite in the flow of funds.
Why we built it
Crypto still mostly reaches people who already have wallets, and every way the rest of the world moves money is watched. We wanted both problems gone at once: payments that reach anyone you can send a link to, with no wallet, exchange, or bank on their end; an account that is a key you control and nothing more; and conversations only you and the other person can read.
Aphanite Labs builds Aphanite as a small, focused team. We ship the product as it is: documented, audited, and open where it counts. A privacy product only earns trust by being checkable, not by asking for the benefit of the doubt.
What we stand for
Content–revenue separation
Our infrastructure only ever processes ciphertext plus the routing data needed to deliver it. Every way we could make money is realizable without decrypting anything, so we never have a reason, or a way, to read your messages.
Self-custody by default
Your keys are generated and kept on your device. Aphanite never holds your funds, never touches your keys, and can’t freeze or move your money. The wallet is yours; we make it easy to use.
Open to inspection
The directory that maps names to keys is an append-only log anchored on Ethereum, your client verifies it against the chain, and the relay is open source. We publish an independent security audit and document what we don’t yet do.
Limits stated up front
We’re a single-operator service with client-side encryption and on-chain checkpoints, which is a strong and defensible model. We say exactly what that means, including the metadata the relay sees, rather than overclaiming.
