About Aphanite Labs

Money and messages that are yours alone.

Aphanite is a wallet-native, end-to-end encrypted app for talking and paying in the same place. Your wallet is your identity, every message is sealed on your device before it leaves, and value moves straight from your wallet to someone else’s — with no bank, no exchange, and no Aphanite in the flow of funds.

Why we built it

Every way people move money today is watched, and most “private” messengers still tie you to a phone number. We wanted the opposite: an account that’s just a key you control, conversations only you and the other person can read, and payments that feel like sending a message.

Aphanite Labs builds Aphanite as a small, focused team. We ship the product as it actually is — documented, audited, and open where it counts — because a privacy product only earns trust by being checkable, not by asking for the benefit of the doubt.

What we stand for

Content–revenue separation

Our infrastructure only ever processes ciphertext plus the routing data needed to deliver it. Every way we could make money is realizable without decrypting anything — so we never have a reason, or a way, to read your messages.

Self-custody by default

Your keys are generated and kept on your device. Aphanite never holds your funds, never touches your keys, and can’t freeze or move your money. The wallet is yours; we just make it easy to use.

Verifiable, not just promised

The directory that maps names to keys is an append-only log anchored on Ethereum, your client verifies it against the chain, and the relay is open source. We publish an independent security audit and document what we don’t yet do.

Honest by construction

We’re a single-operator service with client-side encryption and on-chain checkpoints — a strong, defensible model. We say exactly what that means, including the metadata the relay sees, rather than overclaiming.
